Learn to create one-of-a-kind dolls that stand up on their own! This self-paced video course has 5 hours of video content to give you hours of fun play!
Suitable for all levels. No drawing skills required. Tracing templates and doll print outs are available.
Note: You can adapt these projects to watercolor or acrylics.

You will also learn invaluable skills, like drawing and painting faces, mixing skin tones, and mixed media layering techniques that you can transfer to many other art projects!

In this course you will learn how to draw and paint two different styles of faces: a whimsical one and one with more realistic proportions. You will also learn to mix and paint skin tones in watercolor and acrylic. Learn 3 different techniques to decorate your doll: create one-of-a-kind fabric using paper towels, paint, stamp, collage, and layer a unique dress, and paint an abstract blossom dress in watercolor.

About the instructor:

Catherine L. Taylor is a mixed media and watercolor artist. She has been creating art since 2008. She has also been a life wellness coach for 20 years and has been teaching online since 2008. You can see more of her art at catherineltaylor.com.

Here is a Description of Each of Our Projects:

Project 1 – Assembling Your Dress Template and Built in Stand

Project 2 – Decorating Your Dress

In this project you will learn how to create a one-of-a-kind fabric from a paper towel. You will also learn how to paint, stamp, layer, and collage a one-of-a-kind dress.

Project 3 –Drawing a Painting a Whimsical Doll

In this project you will learn how to paint skin tones in watercolor and draw and paint a whimsical style doll. You will also learn how to paint flower embellishments to add to your doll. Note: If you’re not interested in drawing the face and doll, tracing templates and print out are available.

Project 4 – Drawing and Painting a Spring Maiden

In this project you will learn how to draw and paint a spring maiden doll. You will learn how to create realistic skin tones and proportions in watercolor. You will also learn how to paint an abstract blossom dress in watercolor and then embellish your doll.
